SUMMARY:Team Penning Practice
DESCRIPTION:Team penning is a western equestrian sport that evolved from the common ranch work of separating cattle into pens for branding\, doctoring\, or transport. Today it is a fast-paced event that gives a team of three riders on horseback 90 seconds to separate three specifically identified cattle from a herd of 30\, and put them into a 20′ x 24′ pen through a 10′ opening\, at the opposite end of the arena\n\nOpen Team Penning is open to everyone!\n\nTeam Penning is a fun event for all ages of riders and all abilities of riding levels. Team sign-up takes place right before the event and everyone picks their own teams. If you don’t have a team and want to try\, there are folks who will team up with you.\n\nWant to try this and not sure how you or your horse will do? Come early and introduce your horse to the cattle and find team mates.\n\nThe cost is $20 per person per team or $60 per team. Each team of three riders gets three goes or turns. Free admission for spectators.\n\nFor anyone that would like to stay and camp at the fairgrounds for the Jackpot Team penning the next day\, there are stalls available for $20 per stall and rough field camping is available. Jackpot Team Penning is being held the next day at the same location. See our page for details.
