DESCRIPTION:Save the date for Jackpot Team Penning! \nCome and sort some cattle! \nTeam penning is a western equestrian sport that evolved from the common ranch work of separating cattle into pens for branding\, doctoring\, or transport. \nToday it is a fast-paced event that gives a team of three riders on horseback 60 seconds to separate three specifically identified cattle from a herd of 15\, and put them into a 20′ x 24′ pen through a 10′ opening\, at the opposite end of the arena\nJackpot team penning is for all ages and all riding abilities. There will be two go rounds for each team. The cost is $75 per team and there will be a 50 percent payback of total entries. Payout will be based on the number of teams signed up. Everyone is welcome! Team sign-up takes place right before the event and everyone picks their own teams. If you don’t have a team and want to try\, there are folks who will team up with you. \nAdmission for spectators is free and there will be food/beverages for purchase.

Today it is a fast-paced event that gives a team of three riders on horseback 60 seconds to separate three specifically identified cattle from a herd of 30\, and put them into a 20′ x 24′ pen through a 10′ opening\, at the opposite end of the arena\n\nOpen Team Penning is open to everyone!\n\nTeam Penning is a fun event for all ages of riders and all abilities of riding levels. Team sign-up takes place right before the event and everyone picks their own teams. If you don’t have a team and want to try\, there are folks who will team up with you.\n\nWant to try this and not sure how you or your horse will do? Come early and introduce your horse to the cattle and find team mates.\n\nThe cost is $30 per person per team or $90 per team. Each team of three riders gets three goes or turns. There will be a 50% payback for the top three teams. Free admission for spectators

Rodeo school is a great time to learn\, try and practice rodeo events for the upcoming 8th Annual Keystone State Gay Rodeo on October 5\, the next day.\n\n\nEvents that will be held at the rodeo school will be chute dogging\, calf roping on foot\, goat dressing\, steer decorating\, and wild drag race.\n\nCost for the rodeo school is $10 per event or $40 for all. All participants get to try each event three times. Anyone ages 10 years and older are welcome to participate in the rodeo school and rodeo.\n\n\nFor anyone that is coming to the rodeo school or rodeo and wants to camp\, there is rough camping available at Rainbow Rodeo Productions.

DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nThe 8th Annual Keystone State Gay Rodeo rides into action October 5\, 2024 starting at 11:00 am at Rainbow Rodeo Productions\, 240 Glen Mary Drive\, Owego\, NY 13827. The event is a family-friendly\, inclusive rodeo and country event that merges traditional rodeo favorites with some non-traditional fun and hilarious events all in a safe and inviting atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. Both men and women compete equally in all rodeo events and anyone ages 10 and over are welcome to compete.\n\nIf you are attending you can expect to see some traditional rodeo events such as barrel racing\, chute dogging and calf roping and includes some unique rodeo events\, such as goat dressing\, the wild drag race and steer decorating. Goat Dressing is a team relay race to put underwear on a goat; steer decorating is a team event to get a 400-500 pound steer under control and tie a ribbon around its tail\, and the wild drag race is a three person team event to get a 400-500 pound steer under control\, then get a drag queen up on its back and get that combination across the finish line.\n\nThis year we will also have 3-D barrel racing with a $1\,000 added purse and a new event\, steer sled riding. In steer-sled riding\, contestants are timed to see how long they can ride the sled before the steer lets them off.\n\nMake sure that you bring your camera and capture these unique events! There will be food available for purchase. Admission into the rodeo for adults 13 & over is $10 each\, children ages 6-12 $5 each and children ages 5 and under are free. The event is an outdoor event\, so dress accordingly and bring your lawn chair.
